Halloween special Part 2: Sweet potato soup (because it's orange)

This is perfect for the day after the big halloween night. Soothing on a sore stomach, good for a bad head and also delicious. And it's orange. And it's kind of smoky (because of the paprika) so it reminds me of winter fires.
Recipe makes 3 big bowlfuls.

You'll need:
30g/1oz soya butter
1 red onion
2 garlic cloves
1 big sweet potato sliced and peeled
2 tsp of smoked paprika
1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
1 tsp of ground cumin
salt
freshly ground black pepper
1 ltr/2 pints of vegetable stock

Melt the soya butter in a medium pan and fry the onion, garlic and sweet potato for a few minutes until softened. Add the paprika, cinnamon, ground cumin and the seasoning and stir together. Heat through for another couple of minutes. Add the stock, bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer gently for 10-12 minutes. Blend, put back on the heat for a few seconds to warm through, and serve with fresh bread.

I know this is an old entry, but I wanted to let you know I make this recipe about once a month, especially when I have guests, and I've recommended to looooads of people. It's one of my favorite soups ever! (One of my OTHER favorite soups ever is your curried parsnip one.) Thanks you!
